The GLS has got a lot of its traditions. Among them are Olympiads carried out under the Ministry of Education of Belarus or together with some newspapers publishing offices. These traditions are also celebrations of the 1st of September and the Spring Ball, which take place outdoors in special party hails. They include the Holiday of the Official Admittance to the LGS, Christmas arrangements and activities and participation in different city or international competitions and tournaments. They are finally trips, journeys and tours abroad on holidays as well as sending children to corresponding medical establishments of Belarus to achieve the necessary medical cure. The aim of the LGS educational activity and treatment is to bring up well-educated, sociable, morally mature and advanced young people who will be able to find their place in life. One of the maim purposes of our society is to create a multi-sided person. That's why we've got a task to set up theoretically and practically realize the kind of training that would insure formation of personalities with high spiritual needs and advanced cognitive abilities. This demands in its turn the necessity to develop their creative activity. When defining the term "creative activity" we should point out that the activity of a person if regarded psychologically means the ability to perform socially significant transformations on the basis of the adoption of material and spiritual values. The results of such adoption are revealed in creativity, volitional acts and communication. The difference between the creative activity of a schoolboy and an adult is that the results of the first don't usually make anything really new in the common (universal) sense. However when making his conclusions he models and forms abilities and skills of a creator which are necessary in his future labour. Thus our system of pedagogical methods and practical work at classes should be aimed at forming and advancing such abilities. We must help pupils to find out ways to better adopt new information stimulating at the same time their requirement for further information.
